Mid April is going to witness one of the biggest box office clashes in the history of Tamil cinema as Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Beast’ is releasing on the 13th followed by Yash’s ‘KGF : Chapter 2’ on the 14th. While the former is banking on the charisma of its lead hero the latter is relying heavily on the unprecedented pan Indian success of the original ‘KGF : Chapter 1’ released in 2018.
As for as Tamil Nadu is concerned the first preference is undoubtedly for ‘Beast’ and Tirupur Subramaniam the President of the TN Film Distributors Union has revealed the ratio in which theaters have been allotted for both the films. Accordingly ‘Beast’ is releasing in around 800 theaters in the state while ‘KGF 2’ will get in the region of 250.
‘Beast’ is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar with Anirudh scoring the music and is produced by Sun Pictures and distributed by Red Giant Movies. The film has Vijay and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. ‘KGF 2’ is directed by Prashanth Neel and is produced by Hombale Films and stars Yash and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles. Bollywood heavy weights Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon costar. We will have to wait and see which of these two biggies win the hearts of the audiences.
