Legendary director Martin Scorcese is producing a new movie that will deal with the exclusive origin of the 'Joker', the arch nemesis of 'Batman'. The standalone film will be co-produced and directed by Todd Phillips who has helmed 'Hangover' and 'Starsky and Hutch' in the past.
'Joker' fans reactions to the news has been utterly negative as they feel that the essence of the character is the mystery behind his past. Apparently a director known for his comedies doing the film also irks them. The Joker has been played on screen by Jack Nicholson, the late Heath Ledger and most recently by Jared Leto in 'Suicide Squad'. But it is rumored that Scorcese and Phillips are keen on casting a younger and fresh face for the coveted role.
