A man from the Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for raping seven cows at a cattle shelter in the area.
According to the locals, the man would regularly visit the shelter and assault the animals, with the act being recorded in the shelter's CCTV camera. The volunteers of the shelter who were involved in the daily chores happened to come across the footage and were on complete alert following that. A few days later, when the man trespassed yet again, they caught him red-handed and handed him over to the police. During the investigation, the accused stated that he was in an inebriated state when the event happened and that he had no memory of the incident whatsoever.
The police have arrested and booked the criminal under sections 376 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code, which correspond to charges of animal cruelty.
