Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan has been sent back to jail after being denied bail for the fourth time as a Mumbai Sessions Court, represented by Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, reserved its order till October 20 upon hearing arguments from Aryan's lawyer as well as the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Aryan Khan was reportedly allowed a supervised 10-minute video call with his parents Shah Rukh and Gauri, in line with a High Court order that says prisoners are allowed a video call with their families twice a week due to Covid-19. Aryan has also received a money order worth Rs 4,500 from his house to buy food and other required items from the canteen at Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail. As per reports, while the NCB claimed that Aryan was found to be in touch with some people abroad who were seemingly part of an International Drug Network for illicit procurement of drugs, Aryan's lawyer has denied such claims. "The allegation of illicit trafficking is inherently absurd. This boy who has nothing, he was not even on the vessel. It is an absurd and false allegation," he was quoted as saying.
Aryan Khan was arrested earlier this month after a team of NCB officials busted a rave party onboard a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai. He was later booked under Sections 27 (punishment for consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance), 8C (produce, manufacture, possess, sell or purchase of drugs) and other relevant provisions of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
