In 1997, the prestigious AVM Productions banner celebrated its 50th Anniversary and decided to make a youthful film to mark the occasion. The film Minsara Kanavu` directed by Rajeev Menon and music score by A. R. Rahman had Arvind Swamy, Prabhu Deva and Kajol as the lead players.

Twenty years later, both the heroes Arvind Swamy and Prabhu Deva came back from a hiatus and both have hit the jackpots immediately with Thani Oruvan` and Devi` respectively. The years seem to have no bearing on the duo as they are as much in demand now as ever. Arvind Swamy once again swayed his audiences with Bogan` and is next starring in Sathuranga Vettai`, Vanangamudi` and Naragasooran`. Similarly Prabhu Deva is the hero of Yung Mung Sung` and is in talks to do the lead role in Seenu Ramaswamy`s next apart from directing Karthi and Vishal in Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja`. Great going indeed for Thomas and Deva of Minsara Kanavu` for whom life has started to rock after 40.
