Handsome actor Arvind Swami, who had returned to films after a hiatus with mentor Maniratnam directorial Kadal, got a huge image makeover post the blockbuster result of Thani Oruvan (2015) with his character Siddharth Abhimanyu and his portrayal winning the actor huge acclaim.

Arvind followed it up with movies like Bogan, Dhruva (Telugu remake of Thani Oruvan), Hindi flick Dear Dad, Bhaskar Oru Rascal, and was last seen on screen playing a gangster vying for the throne in Maniratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. One of the long pending projects of the actor happens to be Sathuranga Vettai 2, that was earlier announced as a September 2018 release.

Directed by NV Nirmal Kumar of Salim fame, Sathuranga Vettai 2 costars Trisha, and the movie might find a release very soon. Even before the release of the movie, Arvind Swamy has announced his next, yet again with Nirmal Kumar, and this movie will be bankrolled by Etcetra entertainment Mathiyalagan. It must be noted that few days back, Nirmal had launched his debut Telugu flick starring Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead.
