Indiaglitz already brought to you that Isai Puyal AR Rahman used AI technology to bring back the voices of late playback singers in a song in his new movie, 'Lal Salaam'. ARR used the vocals of Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed in the power-packed number, 'Thimiru Yezhuda'.
While one set of audience celebrated the song, some netizens criticised the movie makers for using AI voice to avoid paying real singers. Rahman took to his Twitter and clarified, "We took permission from their families and sent deserving remuneration for using their voice algorithms ..technology is not a threat and a nuisance if we use it right…#respect #nostalgia"
Rahman's explanation post is now doing rounds. Lal Salaam stars Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth, Superstar Rajinikanth, Nirosha, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, Kapil Dev, Livingston, Senthil, Vivek Prasanna, Thangadurai and many others. Produced by Lyca Productions, it is slated to hit the screens on February 9th. The film is directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth.
