Legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is set to return to the director’s chair at the remarkable age of 94, once again proving that creativity knows no bounds. With a career spanning decades and close to sixty films across multiple languages, Rao has consistently pushed the boundaries of Indian cinema. From the iconic Pushpak to the visionary sci-fi classic Aditya 369, his filmography stands as a testament to innovation and originality.

His memorable collaborations with Kamal Haasan including Vichitra Sahodharulu and Michael Madana Kama Rajan remain benchmarks of creative storytelling. Now, he is back with his ambitious dream project, Sing Geetham, envisioned as India’s first musical fantasy, blending music with elements of magical realism.

The film is produced by Nag Ashwin under the prestigious banners of Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, bringing together a legendary director and a reputed production house for the first time. The intriguing title was recently unveiled through an engaging teaser, raising expectations.

Set in a mysterious and secluded village, Sing Geetham follows the journey of a young man, Prathap, whose search for opportunity leads him into a world where reality blurs with the unknown. As he becomes entangled in forces beyond his control, he finds himself caught in a deeper conflict between progress and preservation testing his beliefs and purpose.

The film introduces a young and promising cast, including Ayaan, Ahilya Bamroo, and Shalini Kondepudi, who bring freshness and strong comic timing to the narrative. Rao once again demonstrates his signature style of blending fantasy with subtle humour and unique storytelling.

Cinematographer Ankur C lends striking visual depth to the film’s imaginative world, while Devi Sri Prasad crafts a distinctive soundscape that balances eerie tones with uplifting melodies. Production designer Aravind Mule enhances the film’s visual appeal with a creatively built universe, supported by solid production values.

With high expectations generated by its title teaser, Sing Geetham is slated for a worldwide release on June 11, promising a cinematic experience that continues the legacy of innovation associated with Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.
