Vijay Sethupathi's popularity is growing by the day. Although a majority of the Telugu audience don't know much about his Tamil hits like '96' and 'Super Deluxe', he has been noticed like never before with 'Master', starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead.
The news is that a new poster from 'Uppena' was today unveiled marking his birthday. The actor, who is rumouredly playing Krithi Shetty's elder brother in the movie, is seen intently holding a phone in this period drama set in a sea town. Apparently, he will go against his sister's love affair and threaten the male lead, played by Panjaa Vaisshnav Tej (debutant).
Those who have watched 'Master' are convinced of Sethupathi's immense talent. Earlier, he was seen in an interesting role in Chiranjeevi's 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy'. But, in that film, the likes of Jagapathi Babu got more space. In 'Master', he has played a powerful villain who gets much space in the first half. The versatile actor has even managed to steal the show from the hero of the action drama.
'Uppena', which will most likely release in February, offers Sethupathi a new opportunity to further cement his image in Telugu. He was supposed to play Allu Arjun's villain 'Pushpa'. Only time will tell whose loss it is that he is not doing the film due to issues related to call sheets.
