Billionaire Mackenzie Scott, ex-wife of Amazon CEO and the world's richest person Jeff Bezos, got married to a science teacher named Dan Jewett from Seattle.

Sharing the news of their marriage, Dan Jewett said that he was joining his wife in a pledge to give away a majority of their wealth. "In a stroke of happy coincidence, I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know-and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others. It is strange to be writing a letter indicating I plan to give away the majority of my wealth during my lifetime, as I have never sought to gather the kind of wealth required to feel like saying such a thing would have particular meaning. We are united in that understanding and in our excitement for all we have to learn from so many people working in service of others. With that as a foundation, I join with the kindest and most thoughtful person I know in making this pledge, grateful for the exceptional privilege it will be to partner in giving away assets with the potential to do so much good when shared," he wrote on the Giving Pledge.

Responding to the news of the couple's marriage, Jeff Bezos reportedly said that he is happy and excited for them. "Dan is such a great guy. I am happy and excited for the both of them," the billionaire was quoted as saying. Mackenzie Scott, who is worth worth $53 billion, got divorced from Jeff Bezos in 2019 after 25 years of marriage. They had jointly put out a statement on social media which read, "After a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared life as friends. We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for every one of the years we have been married to each other. If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again."
