The story unfolding at the US box-office is interesting. 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo', which released on Sunday, has come to trump 'Sarileru Neekevvaru', which was a Saturday release.

As per the latest trade reports, the gross figure earned by the Allu Arjun-starrer stands at $1.37 million from premiers and Day 1. The Mahesh Babu-Anil Ravipudi flick has made under $1.59 million with a day more at the box-office.

"The combination of Bunny and Trivikram is at the root of this smashing BO performance. The fact is that this superb figure has been clocked by 'AVPL' with a lesser release compared to 'Sarileru'. The genre (family drama) has mattered a lot," says a source.

Tollywood has breathed a sigh of relief with 'AVPL' and 'SLNE' surging ahead in the US after a few big-ticket releases under-performed in 2019.
