Actor Vijay Sethupathi had debuted as a hero with the 2010 movie Thenmerku Paruvakatru directed by Seenu Ramasamy, and the movie launched his career in Tamil cinema. Vijay Sethupathi considers Seenu Ramasamy as his mentor.

After Thenmerku Paruvakatru, the director and actor joined hands for Idam Porul Yaeval produced by Lingusamy and the movie which also starred Vishnu Vishal, Nandita Swetha and Aishwarya Rajesh was completed in 2014 itself but didn't release because of financial issues.

The latest news making the rounds is that Idam porul Yaeval is now ready for release and that it might be released after lockdown. Recently, Lingusamy's Thirupathi brothers production released songs of their long delayed production Naan thaan Siva, and now Idam porul Yaeval is also execute to hit theatres after lockdown. An official announcement of release date is expected soon.
