She has stated on her social media page "Set out to share some love because there’s so much hate. Like Martin Luther King said, “Darkness cannot be driven out by darkness, only light can do that ...” I hugged strangers and it was MAGIC! You see (the woman) in the red sari, not only hugged me, she kissed me, and then proceeded to KISS MY FRIEND (the reason her mobile shook) who was helping. Made people hug each other too... you see love is contagious! NOW I WANNA DO THIS EVERY YEAR! Maybe next year you can join me. Smile. Spread love!

Internet users have showered praise on Richa Chadha for her loving gesture. The thirty-three-year-old is a Best Actress Award winner for her role in 'Gangs of Waseypur' in 2012 and is currently starring in 'Shakeela', 'Ghoomketu' and 'Panga'. Hug therapy day is observed every year in the US in memory of Martin Luther King and now Richa has introduced it in India and netizens hope that it would spread love in the current trying times of negativity.
