Rachitha Mahalakshmi gained a prominent place in the hearts of fans after acting in 'Saravanan Meenakshi' serial which was aired on Vijay TV.  Her characters in other serials, 'Pirivom Sandippom', 'Nachiyarpuram', 'Naam Iruvar Namakku Iruvar Season 2', and 'Idhu Solla Marandha Kathai' have also been well recieved.

Rachitha is currently one of the star contestants of 'BIgg Boss Tamil 6' hosted by Kamal Haasan.  The show has gone past sixty days and is at the business end currently with around forty days to go for the grand finale.

On the personal front in 2013 Rachitha married actor Dinesh who co-starred with her in the serial 'Pirivom Sandippom'.  The couple fell in love on sets and after marriage too they starred together in 'Nachiyarpuram' aired on Zee Tamil.  

A few months back fans of the couple were shocked when rumours started spreading that they separated during the COVID 19 pandemic and are heading towards divorce.  The actress herself indirectly confirmed it in an interview by stating she identified well with her character in 'Idhu Solla Marandha Kadhai' who loses her husband and raises two children.

Rachitha's estranged husband, Dinesh, conceded that they are now separated due to differences of opinion and hoped it is temporary.   He also added that they both have not taken any attempt to separate legally. Due to this, fans hoped that the couple would get back together soon.

However Rachitha has been cryptically suggesting in her conversations with other 'Bigg Boss Tamil 6' contestants that she has moved on from her previous relationship.  She hinted that there is an angel waiting for her outside and also that she is in a relationship without divulging any other info.  She also completely avoided any mention of Dinesh.

Furthermore Rachitha in a conversation with Vikraman said that her ambition in life is to adopt a girl child when she turns 35.   She said that she is waiting for three more years to fully equip herself financially to fulfill all legal formalities required for her to adopt.

Netizens are now presuming that Rachitha has no intention of reuniting with Dinesh and her intention to adopt instead of giving birth also pointed to the same.  Others feel that when the pretty actress gets evicted or wins the title she will set the record straight about her personal life.
