Oviya who attracted Tamil audiences with her authentic rural act in 'Kalavani' later starred in a number of hit movies such as Sivakarthikeyan's debut 'Marina', 'Kalakalappu', 'Moodar Koodam', and 'Yaamirukka Bayamey'. After a brief hiatus she entered 'Bigg Boss' season one and became the crowd favorite and the first army for a celebrity was gathered on social media for her.

Post the 'Bigg Boss' show Oviya did not sign any film of note except the female-oriented adult comedy '90 ML' which did not do well at the box office. The Oviya Army has been anxious to see her back on screen and after yet another long break there is good news for them.

A new movie has been announced that will star Yogi Babu and Oviya which launches on September 24th. The film is produced by Vidiyal Raju and more details are expected this coming Friday. Stay tuned.
