Actress Nila made her silver screen debut in 'Anbe Aaruyire' directed by and starring S.J. Suryah in the year 2005 and followed it up with 'Jambavan', 'Lee', 'Marudhamalai' and 'Kaalai'. A cousin of Priyanka Chopra, Nila whose real name is Meera Chopra currently resides in Mumbai and her current social media post is against nepotism which is said to have been the reason behind Sushant Singh Rajput's death by suicide.
Nila's post reads "Lots of people including me, wants to break the silence as to why actors commit suicide in this industry, what brings them to the edge. How does the system works against you, and how some directors exploit you emotionally and ruthlessly. (the wise ones never do and education plays a big part here) Ive been there and I still get subjected to it. But the point is how much support you get when you open up, and how many people stand with u. Has it stopped after sushant’s suicide?? NO…The fear of everything makes u take that step eventually. Its never about work, theres plenty in the industry, its about your self respect, dignity, principles and most of it your peace!!” (sic)
In another post Nila has lamented "But unfortunately nothing really happens in this country. We have the weakest law system for abusers of any kind. Sad but true!!. Her upcoming films are 'Mogali Puvvu' in Telugu and 'Nastik' in Hindi.
