In a significant development in the ongoing drug case involving members of the Tamil film industry, actor Krishna has been arrested by the police. This follows the earlier arrest and imprisonment of actor Srikanth in the same case.
According to reports, police conducted an intensive two-hour search at Krishna’s residence in Besant Nagar, Chennai. The arrest came after Srikanth, during his interrogation by the Nungambakkam police, allegedly revealed connections between a drug trafficking network and actor Krishna.
Initially, the police had planned to issue a summons to Krishna for questioning, but he reportedly went into hiding. A special team was then deployed to trace and arrest him.
During the subsequent investigation, Krishna reportedly denied any involvement, stating, “I am not addicted to drugs. I suffer from heart and stomach ailments, so I cannot consume such substances.” A medical examination conducted afterward supported his claim, showing no signs of drug usage.
Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing and that further action will be determined based on the findings of the house search. The arrest has stirred considerable buzz in the film industry.
