Amidst confusion and worries over vaccine production and capacity, the Modi government has said that as many as 216 crore doses of various vaccines, including 75 crore doses of Covishield and 55 crore doses of Covaxin, will be produced in India by the end of this year.

Bio E Sub-Unit vaccine doses will be 30 crore in number. Novavax will be 20 crore in number. Sputnik V will be 15.60 crore in number. BB Nasal Vaccine will be 10 crore in number. Zydus Cadilla DNA vaccine will be 5 crore in number.
The Centre has clarified that over 216 crore doses of vaccines will be manufactured in India from August to December. These are meant for India and for Indians, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar stressed.
He added that any vaccine that is approved by the US FDA, the World Health Organization can come to India and import license will be granted within 1 to 2 days. So far, no import license is pending.
