ZEE5 has unveiled the official trailer of its upcoming Telugu original series Memu Coplam, and it promises a wildly entertaining mix of rural comedy, mystery, chaos, and unexpected twists. Set against the vibrant backdrop of a village obsessed with cockfighting, the series is scheduled to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 on May 22.
The story revolves around a prized rooster that mysteriously goes missing in a village where cockfighting is treated as a matter of pride, politics, and prestige. The bizarre investigation falls into the hands of two hilariously incompetent cops Ravi and Mohan Sotari who possess more confidence than actual investigative skills. What initially appears to be a simple poultry search soon spirals into a much larger mystery filled with secrets, suspicion, and escalating madness.
As the duo stumbles through one absurd situation after another, they accidentally begin uncovering truths that threaten to shake the very foundations of their quirky village. With black magic rumours, political pressure, activist outrage, bloodshed warnings, and rising paranoia spreading through the community, the series gradually transforms from a rural comedy into an unpredictable mystery thriller.
The trailer has already generated strong curiosity for its rooted atmosphere, eccentric characters, sharp visual presentation, and uniquely chaotic storytelling style. Instead of relying on forced comedy, the humour naturally emerges from misunderstandings, social absurdities, and the dead-serious way every villager reacts to the missing rooster crisis.

Veteran actor Nagendra Babu appears as the authoritative Gajapati Raju, while Getup Srinu as Mohan Sotari and Raviteja Nannimala as Ravi Sotari deliver an entertaining combination of confusion, panic, and accidental investigative brilliance.
The series also features Reethu Chowdary as Meenakshi, Charan Lakkaraju as Akash Reddy, Siri Parvathy as Sanghavi, and Kireeti Damaraju as Giri in important roles.
Visually, Memu Coplam stands out with its colourful rural aesthetic, atmospheric night sequences, earthy Godavari backdrop, and stylized presentation. The trailer hints at a fascinating world where folklore, superstition, politics, village ego, and complete chaos collide in the most entertaining manner possible.
Produced by B. V. S. Ravi under RAW Entertainments, the series is directed by Pradeep Maddali with story by Shoban Chittuprolu. The screenplay has been written by Shoban Chittuprolu and Chanakya Varma.
Over the years, ZEE5 Telugu has built a strong reputation in the OTT space with successful originals like D/O Prasad Rao: Kanabadutaledu, Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting, Vikkatakavi, Paruvu, Puli Meka, and Aha Naa Pellanta, consistently exploring rooted Telugu stories across comedy, mystery, thriller, and rural drama genres.
With Memu Coplam, the platform once again dives deep into a distinctly Telugu rural world packed with eccentric characters, cockfight culture, village politics, folklore, suspense, and nonstop entertainment.
