Ace director Chimbu Deven joined forces with Yogi Babu last year for the sea-based film titled ‘Boat’. Today, the movie team announced the release date along with a new teaser. ‘Boat’ is set to hit cinemas on August 2nd, with Tamil Nadu distribution rights secured by Sakthi Film Factory.
The teaser showcases ten people fleeing in a boat from a British camp near Chennai during the Japanese bombings in 1944. The story focuses on their struggle to escape when the boat stops in the middle of the sea, develops a hole, and starts sinking. The film blends comedy with a World War II backdrop, offering a unique and fresh perspective for Tamil cinema.
“Boat” boasts an impressive cast that includes M.S.Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Gouri G. Kishan, Jesse Fox-Allen, Chaams, Madhumitha, Sha Ra, Kollapuli Leela, Aakshath Das and others. The movie has Ghibran as the music director, Madhesh Manickam as the cinematographer, Dinesh Ponraj as the editor and Ayyappan as the art director.
