According to shocking reports, NSO Group an Israeli company has allegedly supplied a spyware bug which can be used to steal personal data from Apple and Android phones. All it takes is a Whatsapp call whether the owner of the phone picks the call are not the spyware starts working and has capabilities to collect all the personal information stored.
The same NSO Group was earlier have been accused for selling spyware to spy on journalists and social activists as reported by the New York Times. The most widely used messaging service on the globe has issued a statement “WhatsApp encourages people to upgrade to the latest version of our app, as well as keep their mobile operating system up to date, to protect against potential targeted exploits designed to compromise information stored on mobile devices,”. It has been stated that Whatsapp has fixed the bug on Monday the 13th May.
