In the trailer for ‘Waltair Veerayya’, Chiranjeevi thunders that his name is not found in records. And that records themselves come into existence because of him. As boastful meta punchlines go, this one is the best in recent years. Megastar’s fans will surely enjoy the punchline that seems to be based on the character and plot.
Director Bobby Kolli sets the story in the backdrop of a coastal town where Veerayya is wanted by cops. He is a ferocious tiger on the prowl. He is literally on steroids. This is when a violent cop (played by Ravi Teja) enters the town with the intention of taming him.
The spin on the ‘Idiot’ punchline, the mega action (thanks to the Ram-Laxman duo), the aerial shots, the romance (Shruti Haasan has a brief appearance in the trailer), the track involving a doctor (played by Catherine Tresa), a special song featuring Urvasi Rautela, and several other tracks are given an intro.
Bobby Simha, Prakash Raj, Mime Gopi and others are found. Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy, Saptagiri, and Shakalaka Shankar, among other comedians, are seen.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film’s BGM by composer Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by Arthur R Wilson are expected to be top-notch. With the screenplay written by Kona Venkat and K Chakravarthy Reddy, the film is also penned by Hari Mohana Krishna and Vineeth Potluri.
The film hits the screens on January 13.
