'Voter', a political drama starring Manchu Vishnu, Sampath Raj and Surabhi, has bagged U/A certificate from the Censor Board. Directed by GS Karthik and produced by John Sudheer Pudhota, the film is gearing up for a June release.
The film was recently in the thick of a controversy after a rumour went out that it imitates 'Assembly Rowdy'. The film's director went to the town saying that his film has nothing to do with 'AR'. He also outed his own version of what had transpired, saying that the script was corrupted by Manchu Vishnu's intervention.
Speaking up on the row, producer John Sudheer Pudhota has said, "The allegations are all false, and we didn't sign any agreement related to Assembly Rowdy. Vishnu's friend Vijay Kumar Reddy last month made false allegations. We didn't copy any scenes from any film. 'Voter' is our own creation and we are proud of our film."
