During the fourth Republican presidential debate in Alabama, Vivek Ramaswamy, a contender for the Republican presidential nomination, sharply criticized fellow hopeful Nikki Haley. Ramaswamy, known for his strong opposition to US assistance to Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, reaffirmed his standpoint. He asserted that the only advocates for deploying American troops in Ukraine are Nikki Haley and President Joe Biden. Despite holding fourth place in most national polls, Ramaswamy was notably aggressive during this debate. He lambasted Haley, asserting that she lacks familiarity with even three provinces in Eastern Ukraine. Ramaswamy seemed emboldened by Haley's apparent agreement.
He emphasized the disparity between foreign policy experience and foreign policy wisdom, asserting his advocacy for a rational, peace-oriented approach in Ukraine. Ramaswamy criticized both Haley and Biden, highlighting their support for what he considers a futile war in Ukraine. According to him, neither possesses sufficient knowledge to identify three provinces in Eastern Ukraine they intend to involve American troops in.
During the debate, Ramaswamy pointedly called out Haley, emphasizing her lack of knowledge about these provinces while advocating sending troops to fight there. He discredited the notion that Haley's brief tenure at the UN and subsequent lucrative earnings equate to genuine foreign policy experience. He scornfully mentioned Haley's purported lack of understanding and knowledge, alleging her intentions to deploy troops without grasping crucial details.
In an exchange concerning foreign policy, Ramaswamy sarcastically expressed willingness to enlist the help of his three-year-old son to assist Haley in locating Israel on a map. He also labeled the former US Ambassador to the UN as "more fascist" than Democrat Joe Biden, brandishing a handwritten note reading "Nikki = Corrupt."
Ramaswamy's critique extended to former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, disparaging Christie's foreign policy credentials and advising him to exit the race.
I made a bet that @NikkiHaley couldn’t even name just three regions of eastern Ukraine that she wants to send America’s sons & daughters to die fighting for. Turns out, I was right. pic.twitter.com/HvZRxsEpp0
