Vishal had a shocker on Wednesday, when, moments after his nomination was accepted, it was once again rejected by the EC. "Democracy at its lowest low!! Disheartening to hear that the nomination made by me was initially accepted and later when I left, has been announced as invalid," the actor tweeted late in the night.
He said that if 'Amma' (Jayalalithaa) had died on Dec 5th last year, this 5th, it's "Democracy which has died". Hours before, he had said that truth triumphed in the end when his nomination was accepted.
Coming to his defence, Arvind Swamy said, "Logically, getting 10 people to propose such a candidate for a nomination is not difficult. Even if forged, and there seems no reason for that in this case, those proposers being aware of the same and approaching the EC with an objection in 24 hrs, unlikely."
Fittingly, Vishal has said that he will approach the court for justice.
