In an unexpected move, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi has announced opting out of the movie 800, which is the biopic of Sri Lankan cricketer Muthiah Muralitharan. Earlier today the actor had said that he won’t quit the project.
Amidst rising controversies and demand to Vijay Sethupathi to quit 800, today cricketer Muthiah Muralitharan himself issued a press release requesting Vijay Sethupathi to opt out of the project, as he didn’t want Vijay Sethupathi’s image and reputation and film career to be affected because of acting in this movie.
After Muthiah Muralitharan’s press release, Vijay Sethupathi made a tweet sharing the press release and captioning it “Nandri. Vanakkam” indicating that he is quitting the project. 800 is directed by MS Sripathy and produced by DAR motion pictures and Moving Train productions.
