Victory Venkatesh's 'Guru' has been an awaited movie. The makers have updated about this sports drama. "The film has completed its shoot and post-production. Directed by the National Award winning Sudha Kongara, who has worked with the maestro Mani Ratnam for seven years, before taking up direction herself, has done a great job. The movie is a gritty and realistic sports drama with strong emotions," the makers aver.
The audio is coming in the first week of March. "A special lyrical video from the film titled 'Aye Sakkanodu' will be released on February 17," they inform.
Ritika Singh, the second most important character of the movie, who is playing Venky's discipline, is a real-life mixed martial arts expert who represented India at the 2009 Asian Indoor Games. Only recently, she won a National Award as well as a Filmfare Award for Best Debut for the movie 'Irudhu Suttru', of which 'Guru' is a remake.
Mumtaz Sorcar, who is playing another key role, is the daughter of the legendary magician PC Sorkar.
Guru is aiming for a summer release and the exact release date will be announced soon. Sashikant of Y Not Studios is producing the movie and Santosh Narayanan is composing the music. Nasser, Tanikella Bharani, Raghu Babu and others are part of the cast. KA Shaktivel is the cinematographer. Satish Suriya is the editor. Jacki is the art director. The lyrics are from Ramajogayya Sastry, Bhaskarabhatla and Srimani. Harshavardhan is the dialogue-writer.
