Former actress and eldest daughter of Vijayakumar and Manjula, Vanitha Vijayakumar first married and divorced actor Akash with whom she has two children and later married Anandarjan from Telengana with whom she has a daughter.

Vanitha`s second marriage too failed and ended in divorce with Anandarajan taking custody of their daughter Jayanitha. Anandarajan had lodged a complaint with Telengana police that Vanitha kidnapped their daughter. Vanitha has spoken to the media and said that for three years her former husband had kept the whereabouts of Jayanitha hidden from her and she had suffered mental trauma without meeting her daughter. Meanwhile a few days back Jayanitha had apparently called her from an unknown number and said she is unhappy with her father and wanted to reunite with her but she did not know the house address she was staying in. Jayanitha had then given Vanitha the address of a dance class and the mother had air dashed to Telengana and with the help of the police has taken her daughter back to Chennai.
