Cases have been registered again Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in multiple courts across Tamil Nadu for his comments about Mahabharath, in his interview to a popular Tamil New Channel. The petitioners have sought sever legal action against the veteran actor for his comments which according the them are degrading the great Indian Epic thereby hurting the sentiments of Hindus
On Friday, the district Magistrate Court in Valliyoor in Tirunelveli district, has ordered Kamal Haasan to be present for the hearing on May 5, 2017 in connection with this case. The Judge has earlier ordered the local police to inquire about the issue and file a report. But the police have failed to file the report on time and hence the Judge has called for Kamal Haasan's presence for the next hearing on the case.
A show cause notice has been sent to the local police for not filing the report as sought by the Court.
However in a similar case against Kamal Haasan for "hurting Hindu sentiments", a Munsif Court at Kumbakonam of Tamil Nadu has not only dismissed the petition against the actor as "non-maintainable" but also order the petitioner to deposit Rs.10,000 as fine for wasting the time of the honourable court with such flimsy cases.
