On his 40th birthday (January 8), Kannada superstar Yash unveiled the explosive new teaser for his highly anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas. While the 2.5-minute character intro video has thrilled fans with its high-octane action and stylish entry, one particular scene has ignited a heated debate across social media.
The teaser opens in a graveyard during a funeral ceremony attended by foreign mourners. A car arrives, and inside, Yash (in his character Raya) is shown in an intimate moment with a woman (played by Beatrice Dauphenbach). The car’s movement triggers a detonator placed underneath, causing a massive explosion across the graveyard. Yash then steps out, grabs a Tommy gun, guns down enemies single-handedly, and delivers the line: “Daddy’s home” — reminiscent of his iconic Rocky Bhai energy from KGF.
This sequence — blending intimacy, a car-triggered bomb, and brutal action in a cemetery — has divided audiences. Many are questioning whether a female director like Geetu Mohandas should depict such a scene, with accusations of objectifying women and using intimacy as a “prop” for the hero’s entry.
With just over two months to go, Toxic is already one of the most talked-about films of 2026. Will the controversy boost its hype or hurt its image? Fans are eagerly waiting to see if Yash can deliver another blockbuster after the KGF era.
