Suriya's new movie 'Suriya 40' has officially gone on floors today with a pooja ceremony and director Pandiraj has planned to shoot portions that does not involve its leading man first. Suriya who tested positive for COVID 19 on 7th February is recuperating at his home after getting treated in a private hospital. He is expected to join the sets in the first week of March.

The big news regarding 'Suriya 40' is that Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu has joined the cast and will be playing an important character. The Suriya-Vadivelu combo is reuniting twelve years after 'Aadhavan'. They have also brought the house down in many other films including 'Friends', 'Vel', 'Aaru' and 'Sillunu Oru Kadhal'.

'Suriya 40' will also mark yet another comeback for Vadivelu who has not had any proper release except Thalapathy Vijay's 'Bigil' in the past few years.

'Suriya 40' is directed by Pandiraj and produced by Sun Pictures with D. Imman providing the music. Priyanka Arul Mohan who is debuting as heroine in Tamil in Sivakarthikeyan's 'Doctor' is playing the female lead.
