The 2006 movie Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikecei starring Vadivelu in dual roles and directed by Chimbudeven was a superhit political satire. The movie was produced by director Shankar's S Pictures, and also starred Manorama, Nagesh, Monica and Tejashree.

Following the success of the movie, before two years, the director Chimbudeven  and Shankar had launched the sequel to the movie, Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikecei to be co-produced by Lyca Productions. However the movie ran into trouble as Vadivelu and the team had differences.

After several interviews given by Vadivelu against the team and director Shankar, the makers were quite unhappy, and the makers tried to involve Seeman to hold meeting involving Vadivelu and the team to sort out issues but it didn't work. It has been revealed that the team is on the right track to begin shooting Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikecei soon, though it won't be Vadivelu but another actor who will star in it and the team is on the lookout for a star to replace him.
