US President Donald Trump gets tested for coronavirus after personal valet tests positive

A spokesperson of US President Donald Trump informed on Thur that a White House military aide, who is reportedly part of a unit working closely alongside the United States President, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Following the military aide’s diagnosis, President Trump and Vice President Pence took a Covid-19 test each, both of which came back negative. “We were recently notified by the White House Medical Unit that a member of the United States Military, who works on the White House campus, has tested positive for Coronavirus. The President and the Vice President have since tested negative for the virus and they remain in great health,” deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley informed in a statement, according to International media. Regarding the testing procedure for the virus in the United States, Trump reportedly stated, “No matter what you do, testing is not a perfect art. So we test once a week. Now we’re going to get tested once a day. I’ve had very little contact with this gentleman. Know who he is, good person… yeah it’s a little bit strange, but it’s one of those things.” After coming in contact with three people at his Florida resort who had tested positive for the virus in early March, Trump got a test for Covid-19, which turned up negative as well.

The United States, which is the worst affected country as a result of the pandemic, has recorded 1292623 cases and 76928 fatalities until now. Covid-19 has claimed the lives of more than 270700 people and infected over 3916250 people across the world.
