The Telugu entertainment industry is in mourning following the tragic deaths of actor Chandrakant and his girlfriend, actress Pavitra Jayaram. Chandrakant, best known for his role in the popular serial “Trinayani,” committed suicide on Friday, just days after Pavitra died in a road accident last Sunday.
The couple had been planning to marry after being in a relationship for five years. However, Chandrakant was previously married to Shilpa, with whom he had two children.Chandu was married to Shilpa Prema in 2015 and had two children with her. However, the couple had reportedly been estranged for some time. He had been in a relationship with fellow actress Pavitra Jayaram for six years, and her recent death in a road accident is believed to have significantly contributed to his emotional distress.
In a heartbreaking statement, Shilpa revealed that Chandrakant had abandoned her and their children five years ago to be with Pavitra. Their relationship began shortly after “Trinayani” went on air, and he had not contacted her since. Shilpa expressed deep sadness, saying that Chandrakant’s relationship with Pavitra, who had a history of multiple relationships, had led to his downfall. She also revealed that Chandrakant had been in a depressed state following Pavitra’s death, even attempting self-harm.
Adding to the tragedy, Chandrakant’s father, Venkatesh, described how their family had been estranged for five years due to Chandrakant’s relationship with Pavitra. He shared that Chandrakant had reached out to them after Pavitra’s death, but his attempts to reconnect proved futile.
The double tragedy has left a deep sense of loss and raised questions about the pressures faced by actors in the entertainment industry. This tragic event underscores the profound impact that grief and personal struggles can have, especially within the tight-knit community of the television industry. As the investigation unfolds, the industry mourns the loss of two talented actors and extends its heartfelt condolences to their families and loved ones. This heartbreaking incident serves as a poignant reminder of life’s fragility and the critical importance of seeking support during difficult times.
