In a powerful display of remorse and commitment to religious purity, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has announced an 11-day penance, starting on Sunday, September 22nd, in response to the alleged adulteration of ghee used in the sacred Tirupati Laddu.

This drastic decision comes as the Tirupati Laddu controversy continues to roil Andhra Pradesh, pitting the ruling YCP against the opposition TDP. Pawan Kalyan, who has been a vocal critic of the alleged misdeed, considers the use of contaminated ghee a grave insult to Hindu Dharma and a stain on the Hindu race.

He expressed his deep distress and guilt over the discovery, stating that the moment he learned about the animal remains in the Laddu Prasad, his mind was "broken." He lamented that he was unaware of the issue earlier, and he feels a responsibility to seek spiritual purification for this transgression against Lord Balaji, the deity of Kali Yuga.

Pawan Kalyan will be undertaking his penance at the Sri Dashavatara Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Nambur, Guntur District. After completing the 11-day period, he plans to visit Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple. His plea to God is for the strength to "wash away the sins committed by past rulers against you."

He condemns the perpetrators of this act, calling them "demonic rulers" who have no faith in God or fear of sin. He also criticized the board members and employees of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam system, suggesting that they were afraid to speak out against the "demonic rulers" of the past.

Tirumala Laddu Prasadam, which is considered to be sacred... has become impure as a result of the depraved tendencies of the past rulers. Contaminated with animal remains. Only open minds can succumb to such sin. Not being able to detect this sin in the beginning is a stain on the Hindu race.

The moment I came to know that the laddu prasadam contained animal remains, my mind was broken. Feeling guilty. As I am fighting for the welfare of the people, it hurts me that such trouble did not come to my attention in the beginning. Everyone who believes in Sanatana Dharma should atone for this terrible injustice done to Balaji, the god of Kali Yuga. As part of that, I decided to do a penance initiation.

On 22nd September 2024, Sunday morning, I will take initiation in Sri Dashavatara Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Nambur, Guntur District. After continuing the initiation for 11 days, I will visit Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy. I beg 'God...give me the power to wash away the sins committed by past rulers against you'.

Only those who have no faith in God and no fear of sin indulge in such crimes. My pain is that even the board members and employees who are a part of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam system are not able to find out the mistakes there, even if they find out, they don't talk about it. It seems that they were afraid of the demonic rulers of that time.

The behavior of the past rulers who committed acts of blasphemy to the sanctity, pedagogy and religious duties of Tirumala, which is considered as Vaikuntha Dham, has hurt everyone who follows Hindu dharma. And the fact that ghee containing animal remains was used in the preparation of Laddu Prasad caused a great uproar. The time has come to take steps towards restoring Dharma. Dharmo rakshati rakshitah"
