Today, a grand audio launch event was held at Chennai’s Sairam College for the upcoming film ‘Thug Life’. The entire cast and crew were present at the celebration. The film is set to release in theaters on June 5, and the team has been traveling across different parts of India for promotional events.

Actor Simbu spoke fondly at the event, reminiscing about working with veteran actor Nasser and praising co-stars Abhirami and Ashok Selvan. He described Ashok as a talented younger brother and praised Abhirami’s performance as something people will definitely talk about. Simbu also reflected on his earlier collaboration with Trisha in ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’ and hinted that the trailer of ‘Thug Life’ took fans by surprise with many more such surprises in store.

He shared a personal moment about his connection with music maestro A.R. Rahman, who supported him during tough times by composing the song “Thalli Pogathey” when Simbu was facing public controversy. He also recalled how he once doubted being cast by director Mani Ratnam, but later received a call from his office for ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ and even discussed further projects including ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, which he couldn’t be part of due to other reasons.

Simbu expressed gratitude towards Kamal Haasan, revealing that he initially declined the role in ‘Thug Life’ due to appearance issues but later rejoined the project, calling it an opportunity he couldn’t miss. He concluded by saying, “Kamal Sir calls me a student of cinema, and I have no problem learning from such a talented mentor.”
