Three Telugu films shortlisted for RIFF 2024

Tollywood continues to bask in its glory, and once again, it’s the smaller films that are stealing the spotlight. In a recent development, three Telugu gems Prema Vimanam, Madhurapudi Gramam Ane Nenu, and Mangalavaram have earned a coveted spot at the prestigious Rajasthan International Film Festival 2024.

Scheduled to unfold from January 27th to 31st, 2024, in the regal city of Jaipur, the 10th Rajasthan International Film Festival promises an extravagant affair attended by national and international celebrities. The festival’s thematic focus on “Youth and Heritage” adds a unique layer to the cinematic celebration.As the news broke, the makers of these films expressed their sheer delight, extending heartfelt gratitude to the organizers and the esteemed jury for this prestigious recognition. The cast and crew are extremely delighted on hearing the news. 

Mangalavaram, featuring the talented Payal Rajput of RX100 fame, takes center stage with its bold and compelling narrative, showcasing a woman grappling with nymphomaniac syndrome. Directed by Ajay Bhupathi, the film garnered attention for Payal’s fearless performance and the director’s audacious approach to shedding light on an often-overlooked issue.

Madhurapudi Gramam Ane Nenu, headlined by the promising Siva Kantamaneni and directed by Mallikarjuna Malli, delves into the challenges faced by a village community. The film stands out for its emotional and engaging storytelling, offering poignant insights into various characters. Siva Kantamaneni’s stellar performance and the film’s unique narrative earned widespread appreciation.

Sangeeth Sobhan’s Prema Vimanam takes audiences on an emotional journey, weaving the dreams of two economically disadvantaged children aspiring to travel in an airplane. Director Santosh Kata masterfully highlights the innocence of the young protagonists and crafts a heartwarming romance, earning accolades from all quarters.
