Actress and television host Ramya Subramanian has issued a strong warning on her Instagram page after discovering that her videos have been misused using AI technology. She announced that legal action will be taken against anyone who continues to manipulate her content without consent.
Known for her role in Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani and her work as a TV presenter, Ramya is also highly active on Instagram, where she has over a million followers.
Recently, a disturbing trend has emerged online where videos of celebrities are altered using AI to create inappropriate or misleading content. These include voice manipulation and deepfake-style edits — often turning innocent clips into explicit or suggestive material. Ramya revealed that she has now been targeted by this practice multiple times.
“This is the third time my video has been misused by AI,” she wrote in her Instagram story. “It’s illegal and a fraudulent act that violates my personal rights. This must stop immediately — or legal action will follow.”
Her firm stance has drawn widespread attention, with many followers expressing support and urging stronger action against the misuse of digital and AI technologies.
