In the Lok Sabha elections vote counting held yesterday, TN was completely dominated by DMK and its allies, and the team had a thumping win over arch rivals ADMK. In Chidambaram constituency, the vote counting extended till night, and the result of Thol Thirumavalavan was out only late night.
Earlier he was elected in 2009 from the same Chidambaram, and being known to the people it was a positive start for him, but however, there was a huge delay and confusion till night, as he was leading for a while and trailing after a while, with his supporters made to wait a long time for celebration. Director Pa Ranjith tweeted celebrating and congratulating the leader on his victory.
He tweeted that it is not easy for a dalit to win, like others. He said that the word Magizhchi can’t measure the feeling of Thol Thirumavalavan succeeding, and that his victory can’t be compared to anyone else’s victory too. Ranjith added that he could have contested in any other party symbol, but such an unavoidable victory is needed always. Thirumavalavan finally won by a margin of 3219 votes.
