"Navarasa" is the Tamil language anthology web series by Netflix after gruesome Paava Kadhaigal. This show is created by the legacy Maniratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan.
Navarasa comprises nine segments representing the nine rasas of Indian classical art. Each segment is made by a different cast and crew. Nearly, 8 composers have worked in the 9 episodes of Navarasa.
There are totally 9 tracks in the Navarasa album. The tracks were composed by A.R. Rahman, Karthik, Govind Vasantha, Justin Prabhakaran, and Sundaramurthy KS.
Singer Karthik is well known for his songs such as Aval Ulaga Azhagiye, has turned into a music director now. He scores music for the segment helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. It is called "Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru", representing the rasa 'Love'. Legendary PC Sreeram is wielding then lens in this short.
Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru is a musical story that has 4 songs in the 35-45 minutes episode. Surya is playing Kamal and Prayaga Martin is playing Nethra, two musical artists who fall in love. The 4 songs of this episode have been dropped : "Thooriga", "Alai Alaiyaaga", "Naanum", and "Adhirudha".
Sarjun KM has helmed the short "Thunintha Pin" of rasa 'Courage' starring Atharvaa. The music is scored by Sundaramurthy KS. "Osara Parandhu Vaa" and "The Comrade Theme" were the two songs put out from this episode.
96 fame Govind Vasantha's song "Yaadho", in Chinmayi's voice was loved by the fans. This song belongs to "Edhiri" by Bejoy Nambiar representing the rasa 'Karuna'.
Dear Comrade fame Justin Prabhakaran has scored music for the episode "Payasam" by the Rhythm maker Vasanth. It represents the rasa 'Bibhatsya' (disgust). The beautiful classical song "Kannunjal" was released from this segment.
Our very own Isai Puyal A.R. Rahman has composed the magnum opus "Navarasa Theme", which was revealed in the anthology's teaser. This show is releasing on Netflix on August 6. More updates from Navarasa are on the way. Stay Tuned.
