Thalapathy Vijay came under the scanner of the Income Tax department in February when his shooting spot in Neyveli for ‘Master’ was raided and the much-loved star was whisked away to Chennai where an inquiry for thirty-five hours was made at his residence. On March 12th the same officials once again visited Vijay’s Pannaiyur house in Chennai and it became sensational headlines.
The official IT statement later revealed that Thalapathy Vijay received a salary of rupees fifty crores for ‘Bigil’ and a staggering eighty crores for ‘Master’. The department then gave a clean chit stating that Vijay had paid proper taxes in both instances and the case against him has been closed.
The news has brought big cheers to Thalapathy Vijay fans who are eagerly waiting for his mass speech at the ‘Master’ audio launch on March 15th at the Leela Palace hotel in Chennai which will be telecast live from 6.30pm onwards.
