The re-release of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Ghilli' has been creating a buzz in the film industry for the past few weeks. Despite new Tamil releases, 'Ghilli', which was reopened on April 20th, has successfully entered thrird week in theatres.
According to the latest reports, 'Ghilli' has collected more than 30 crores in its second release to become the highest re-release grosser in Indian cinema surpassing 'Titanic', 'Sholay', and 'Avatar'. It is worth mentioning that the sports action entertainer became the first 50 crores grosser of Tamil cinema in 2004.
'Ghilli' was originally made at a budget of 8 crores, which is one of the expensive films during the time of its release. Directed by Dharani, it stars Vijay, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Dhamu, Nagendra Prasad, Ashish Vidyarthi and many others with music composed by Vidyasagar. The story is about a Kabbadi player attempting to save a girl from the villain.
