Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' directed by Vamshi Paidipallay and costarring Rashmika Mandanna with an ensemble cast is heading towards a shooting wrap. Dil Raju, the film's producer has already announced the release date as Pongal 2023.
Meanwhile director Lokesh Kanagaraj fresh from the unprecedented success of Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' is busy with the pre-production work of Vijay's next 'Thalapathy 67''. Already director Rathna Kumar indirectly confirmed that he is part of the writing team by sharing a photo with Lokesh from an exotic location. The duo had earlier collaborated in the writing of both Vijay's 'Master' and 'Vikram'.
Now another photo has rocked the internet in which Lokesh and Rathna are with director Dheeraj Vaidy from the same secluded spot. This has given rise to speculations that he too has joined the 'Thalapathy 67' team as a screenwriter. Dheeraj Vaidy is the director of the hilarious 'Jil Jung Jak' starring Siddharth which is one of Tamil cinema's first dark comedies that is whacky fun ride.
Already it is reported that Vijay is playing a fifty year old gangster in 'Thalapathy 67' with Trisha playing his wife and Keerthy Suresh as a love interest. It was also said that Prithviraj Sukumaran, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Action King Arjun, Sanjay Dutt and Manzoor Ali Khan are in talks to play the villains. Now with the addition of Vaidy speculations have arose if the film will have a heavy dose of dark comedy. We will have to wait for a couple more months for the film to go on floors in December to get a better understanding of that.
