Thalapathy Vijay powers biggest ever business even before halfway shooting

Thalapathy Vijay is making huge strides in rewriting the business of his films and after Superstar Rajinikanth regularly crosses milestones at the worldwide box office.  His recent release ‘Bigil’ directed by Atlee and produced by AGS Entertainment is said to have breached the 300 Crore mark as well.

Now comes the really big news that ‘Thalapathy 64’  OTT steaming rights has been snapped up by Amazon Prime Video for the biggest ever amount for a Tamil film.  It should be mentioned here that the American based streaming giant does not buy movies before its release and is very choosy when it comes to regional cinema.  But in the case of this Vijay movie even before the shooting has touched the halfway mark the business has been done.  Sun TV has bagged the satellite rights also for a very high price which is also said to be a record.

‘Thalapathy 64’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi sharing the screen space with Malavika Mohanan and Andrea as the female leads.  Anirudh is scoring the music and the release is slated for April 2020.
