Telangana: False COVID-19 claims will face criminal trial

Etela Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, has today said that individuals spreading false news saying someone is a COVID-19 positive case will face legal consequences. He or she will be liable for punishment under relevant laws and bye-laws, the Minister said.
Telangana has got three positive cases of Coronavirus. Earlier today, an individual tested positive, bringing the total to three.
Meanwhile, some states are mooting stringent punishments for those who hide their travel history, escape from quarantines, or recklessly indulge in social contact despite being suspects.
It's reported that there are at least 100 positive cases in India as of Monday evening.
