Telangana bans spitting to fight spread of COVID-19

Spitting in public places was banned today in Telangana.  The “unhealthy practice” will attract relevant penal provisions if anyone is caught doing it.

“The government of Telangana bans unhealthy practices such as spitting of paan/chewable tobacco or non-tobacco products, Sputum in public places and institutions with immediate effect,” an official statement says.

It adds that the habit of spitting poses a serious threat by causing the spread of infections.

The move has to be welcomed by one and all.  Hygiene and cleanliness are paramount in times like this not just in our homes but also outside.
