Movie ticket rates to cost more – Official Government order

The TN Government has released the official order for new movie ticket rates and for Chennai multiplexes are allowed to charge rupees Rs.160 maximum and Rs.50 mininum, whereas the same categories in rest of Tamil Nadu can charge Rs.140 max and 50 min. Non A/C theaters in Chennai are allowed to collect Rs.120 max and Rs.30 min and the rest of the state Rs. 100 and Rs.30.

The above rates include GST and ET as specified in the government order.  Meanwhile the TFPC has stopped new film releases from the 6th October and it is also rumored that theaters would go on strike from Monday.  It remains to be seen how the industry reacts to this order and we will have the updates for you ASAP.
