Actor Silambarasan TR (STR / Simbu) is reportedly set to share the screen with Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur in his upcoming film, according to the latest buzz circulating in Kollywood circles. If confirmed, this would mark Mrunal’s grand entry into Tamil cinema.
Currently busy shooting for Arasan under director Vetrimaaran—a gritty gangster drama set in North Chennai—Silambarasan is gearing up for his next big project. Titled God of Love, the film will be directed by Ashwath Marimuthu (known for Dragon) and produced by AGS Entertainment.
The project is said to be a romantic action-fantasy entertainer, with Silambarasan playing the central character described as the “God of Love.” Preparations are actively underway, and the film is expected to go on floors by the end of April 2026.
According to multiple reports and sources close to the unit, Mrunal Thakur has been finalized as the female lead opposite Simbu in this film. This pairing has already sparked huge excitement among fans of both actors.
Adding to the anticipation, music sensation Anirudh Ravichander is reportedly on board to compose the film’s soundtrack and background score.
While an official announcement is yet to be made by the makers, the news of Mrunal joining hands with STR has set social media abuzz. Fans are eagerly waiting for confirmation and the first official look from the project.
