Latest Coronavirus patients updates from Tamil Nadu government has positive signs

The Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Beela Rajesh has given the official updates on the coronavirus situation in the state with a marked reduction in number of patients testing positive.  According to the briefing 48 new patients have been confirmed infected by the disease out of whom 42 got it from the single event.  4 of the new patients are from Chennai.  The total number of positive patients in the state is now 738 out of whom 679 are from the aforementioned single event.

The news briefing has also shed light that 60739 are under Home quarantine and 230 -are under the Govt watch. So far 6095 samples have been tested to bring about the current result.  8 people have died from the epidemic so far in Tamil Nadu and another 5 are said to be in critical condition and four medical staff too have been affected.

 Samples of at least 550 people with acute respiratory infection have been tested for COVID 19 out of whom only 3 tested positive and also had some kind of travel/ contact history.
