We earlier reported to you that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is teaming up with well-known director Sudha Kongara for the Hindi remake of the Tamil film 'Soorarai Pottru', directed by the same filmmaker as well. Now, the latest reports suggest that Suriya is most likely to headline a cameo in the remake.
According to sources, Suriya will be making a special appearance in the untitled remake that is being produced by his own company. It is worth mentioning that Suriya recently played a powerful cameo in Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram'. The team has retained most of the crew members from the original version. The makers are currently camped in Chennai for the second schedule after the maiden leg in the northern states.
Notably, Suriya played the lead role Nedumaaran Raajangam in 'Soorarai Pottru' - a biopic drama loosely based on the life of G.R. Gopinath, who founded the airline Simplify Deccan to provide affordable air travel to the masses. The film, which was released on Amazon Prime in 2020, became a huge blockbuster in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Starring Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan in the lead roles, Sudha Konagara was set to direct the Hindi remake as well. This movie, bankrolled by Suriya and Jyothika's 2D Entertainment, marks the firm's first Bollywood project. We already updated you that the shooting for the remake commenced in April month with a small prayer.
